I’ll be conducting my new workshop, “Build a Space Battle,” at Capclave 2017 tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to it. Here’s the official description of my the workshop:
So, you want to include a titanic space battle in your military SF novel or your galaxy-spanning space opera. But…who’s fighting? Why are they fighting? You’d like to make the battle realistic…but what tactics and strategies make sense? In this workshop, you’ll learn by doing as we collaboratively build an epic space battle.
My accompanying presentation is already complete and uploaded to SlideShare.net.

David:
Today would have been my 47th wedding anniversary. Ruth died two and a half years ago after a seriers of strokes over 7 years. My eldest daughter died on the 22 of October in 1992.
I have not laughed so hard as when the book changed to be a handbook for Fairy do gooders. It was a roll-on the floor laughing moment.
I found the story a few days ago on Amazon and read it this evening.
Obviously there is magic in the world.
Thanks
Charles
Hi Charles,
I’m sorry to hear of the loss of both your wife and, some years ago, your daughter. I can see why October might not be your favorite month.
I’m happy that I could do something to make your October maybe just a little bit better. And here’s hoping that you’ll find some more magic in the world.
