Nakatomi Plaza Hostage Situation

I was sitting at the island in the kitchen with my laptop in front of me, checking Facebook updates on Christmas Eve when I came across the image above.

I turned toward my wife, who was sitting at the kitchen table about twelve feet away and said, “Shots fired at Nakatomi Plaza. That’s in LA. Looks like we’ve got a hostage situation.”

Well, my wife believed me. She got up and came over to look at my screen. And that’s when I told her it was a joke, that the Nakatomi Plaza was the fictional location for the movie Die Hard, which was released in 1988 and starred Bruce Willis.

I can neither confirm nor deny that she punched me in the arm. If so, it was totally worth it.
