This is a powerful one-page graphic story published by the XKCD webcomic. I’m guessing it came out some time in 2010 since that’s when the Spirit Rover stopped operating. I first spotted this on Facebook and had to do some research to figure out where it originated.
When they’re done well, I really love one-page graphic stories like this. As far as I’m concerned, it’s one of the best I’ve seen.
