I had a great time being the Chief Organizer, and one of the presenters, at the Hourlings 3rd Annual Writing Workshop Day. More importantly, our enthusiastic and motivated audience of local writers had a great time, as well. And this was reflected in their evaluations—they rated us at 4.8 (on a scale of 1 – 5) for the day.
The event was put on by the Hourlings Writing Group at the Rust Library in Leesburg, VA on Saturday, March 22. For six hours, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, local writers gathered in the library’s biggest conference room for a series of well-organized workshops and writing exercises. Presenters included David Keener, Martin Wilsey, Alex Stacy and Maeghan Jo Kimball-Peyruc.
Many thanks to the volunteers who helped put on this event. Additional thanks go out to Lorraine Moffa, the head of Adult Programming for the Loudoun County Public Library system, for both assisting us and designating this event as an officially sponsored LCPS event.
In the photo above, I’m in the middle of conducting a simple, fun, ideation exercise during our lunch break.
